Shure 700 MHzWireless VS The FCC
I received an email from my friend Casey Johnson last week letting all affected parties know that the FCC has decided to not license churches regarding wireless microphone transmission. The problem with not licensing churches for wireless transmission is they are now more than ever susceptible to interferenceShure states in a press release posted on their website " The FCC has ordered that wireless microphones, in-ear monitors, and related equipment must cease operations in the 700 MHz band (698–806 MHz) after June 12, 2010, or earlier under certain conditions. This rule change does not apply to wireless systems that operate in other frequency ranges—only systems that operate on frequencies between 698 and 806 MHz are affected."
Wireless Microphones - Protect your rights
Shure is trying to organize all churches over 500 members to put together signatures and send them over to the FCC. If you and your church have not started organizing (even if you do not use wireless microphones) Please contact Shure Microphone (700 MHz Info), Casey Johnson or Jason Spence at J Sound Services.
Please stay tuned. I am going to post a list of stems you can take to help ensure you are protected.
