The Shure SM58: The go to microphone

In a past life when I  was a Monitor Engineer, the microphone box was always filled with plenty of choices on the festival stage.  When faced having to spend a day with eight to 13 different bands and artists, my choice of microphone was always the Shure SM58.

Now understand I am not a technical kind of guy in any way. All I know is when I pull out a SM58 from a microphone box and put in front of any decent floor wedge I know I'm going to get a sound that I can work with. I also know from experience that as stage conditions change I can count on the SM58 perform well even in extreme heat and humidity.

SM58 the only choice
